We have started to delve into our class now. We have begun to discuss the our different thoughts on engagement and how to define what engagement is. I think many people have the same type of definition of engagement but they all differ slightly because of our own opinions. I hear engagement when kids our talking about what we learned from that day after the class. I see engagement when my kids our actively interested in whatever we have talked about for the day.
Since I now teach online, the seeing is no longer something that I am able to use to decide if I am engaging my students. We approach our lessons differently then a traditional classroom teacher. We do not have that physical presence in the classroom but we still have the opportunity to be present in voice and provide them visual and audio ques. I think it may be more difficult to assess or identify if we are engaging our students but it is something I hope I can learn more about and apply to my lessons!

The Beginning
We haven't really started our class yet. We have however introduced ourselves and given some information about where we all teach. It is a very diverse teaching group which is very interesting. There are teachers from around the world actually which makes it even more exciting. I am intrigued to see the differences and similarities to all of our different teaching locations and mediums.
